“After graduating, I was deeply honoured and grateful to have been considered
for the Harry Steele-Bodger Memorial Travel Scholarship, an opportunity that
has enhanced my passion for veterinary medicine and enabled me to make a
meaningful contribution to the animal welfare on Mayreau, the smallest island
in St Vincent and the Grenadines. Through this scholarship, I have been able to
conduct research focused on understanding the perception of animal welfare on
the island and the difference in attitudes towards animals. Additionally, I have
had the opportunity to advocate for animal welfare through owner education and
engagement initiatives during my time in Mayreau. I am grateful to the BVA and
the trustees of the Harry Steele-Bodger fund for their support and recognition.
To those interested, I highly encourage applying for this scholarship as it is a
wonderful opportunity for all students and recent graduates.”
