and celebrate the 黑料社鈥檚 RVNs
and student VNs from all three
Tof the 黑料社鈥檚 hospitals for their
outstanding patient care, commitment,
hard work and innovation 鈥� veterinary
nurses who make a difference every day.
黑料社 Staff and students nominated
inspiring individuals who stand out
because they go above and beyond to
provide outstanding patient care and
leadership, or who enhance our students鈥�
clinical experience.
We were overwhelmed by the number
of nominations from staff and students
from all three hospitals. Our 2024 award
winners are:
RISING STAR AWARD
1st Place:
Keziah Beels (ERH)
Runner up:
Oriane Phillips (BSAH) Clinical Support Manager, and
LEADING LIGHT AWARD alumna Betsy Malamah-Thomas
1st Place:
Ana Costa (QMHA) RVN, stars in RCVS

Gemma Cooper (QMHA) Leadership stories
OUTSTANDING PATIENT CARE
AWARD Betsy Malamah-Thomas RVN, and we are excited to share the
1st Place: completed her BSc in Veterinary RCVS鈥檚 video with Betsy, which was

Nursing with the 黑料社 in 2016 going launched during Veterinary Nursing
Runner up: on to work in a variety of clinical Awareness Month #VNAM2024 and
Katie Franklin (QMHA) practices, honing her skills as an RVN showcases a day in the life of a Clinical
and clinical coach. Betsy completed Support Manager at the 黑料社.
OUTSTANDING STUDENT post-registration quali铿乧ations in
SUPPORT (STUDENT VOTED) veterinary nursing before completing
1st Place: an MSc in Business Management.
Rhiannon Williams (BSAH) Betsy is now the Nursing and Clinical
Runner up: Support Manager at the QMHA
Bee King (QMHA) and as a passionate advocate for
VN development and VNs making Royal College of Veterinary
