STUDENT NEWS
ºÚÁÏÉç Performing Arts Society
By Matty Clarkson, President of ºÚÁÏÉç Performing Arts Society
ºÚÁÏÉç’s Performing Arts Society (PAS) has been reaching for the stars since our reinvention a few years back. We are
a large group of students who love every part of performance, ranging from seasoned pros to people who just want to have some fun and talk about their favourite West End show! Last year we hit record sales with our production of ‘High School Musical: On Stage!’ which we were able to perform for the first time in the Sports and Wellbeing Centre (SAWC) at the
Hawkshead Campus. We are ecstatic to continue this trend of hosting our annual main stage show in the SAWC building and our next goal is to secure our own staging unit to match.
We have also competed and medalled in two dance competitions, dressed up a professor in our annual pantomime, been on multiple trips to the West End, and taken our first annual PAS Tour trip in Europe! And there is more to come this year. We have more trips, open- mic nights, workshops, and so much
more being planned for the upcoming year. If you are ever in the area, email us at development@rvc.ac.uk and we can let you know if there is an event going on, as we might just be hosting one you can drop into!
The Alumni Fund helped to cover the high costs of the performance rights and materials for High School Musical. You can find out more about the Alumni Fund on page 70.
