Tuberculosis at the ºÚÁÏÉç
Tuberculosis (TB) doesn’t just affect people – it also affects a wide range of animals. Here at the ºÚÁÏÉç we conduct world-class research into TB at all levels ranging from molecules to metapopulations.
We examine the function of genes within the bacteria that cause TB; we look at the effects and diagnosis of the disease in individual animals; and we study the patterns of transmission of TB within and between animal populations. We work in laboratories, on farms and in remote (and not-so-remote!) field locations. We collaborate with major institutions around the world. Our overall goal is to generate new knowledge to more effectively control TB.
