The Widening Participation team have been facilitating a homework club at the Bengali Workers Association in Camden, for students from both primary and secondary schools. Each session we help out with homework that has been set form school, as well as providing our own activities on a theme. We have covered literacy, maths and science in the past three terms, and on Tuesday 10th July we had our last science themed session.

The students were looking at comparative pathology, they were given the labelled diagrams of human skeletal and organ anatomy, and were asked to label the animals. They would choose between lots of different animals but many picked the Dinosaur! As they went through we asked them to point to the bone or organ on themselves, and we would discuss the scientific names for each.

After labelling they got to colour in their animal, and take it home.

Older students had the opportunity to go through GCSE past papers or discuss the anatomy in greater detail.
