Get Your Grades online after-school club content

Following the success of Chemistry Champions, Biology Champions and Biology Stars, we are delighted to offer Get Your Grades for GCSE Science.

  • FREE 5-week online GCSE science revision course; could also be shown live as after-school club content
  • Tuesday afternoons between 4pm and 5pm.
  • Starts after half term, 27th February 2024 then weekly until March 26th
  • Webinar format so no pupils are seen.
  • Interaction via moderated Padlet question boards; University students answer pupil questions
  • Royal Society of Biology, Institute of Physics and Zoological Society of London are guest organisations
  • Follow-up activities will be provided

The aims of the programme are to help increase grades for Science GCSEs, and will also be useful revision for A Level/BTEC  students.

Previously, we only made online programme content available to pupils, to register for weekly live sessions.

However, based on feedback, we would now like to offer sessions to teachers for use for an after-school club or as lesson content.

Sessions will cover Biology, Chemistry and Physics revision, aimed at Combined Science grade 3 upwards. In addition, role models showcasing science careers will share their stories

Face-to-face tutoring with Year 11s local to ºÚÁÏÉç campuses has informed the choice of content, as well as close partnership work with teachers. We will be sharing news of science resources from guest organisations: the Royal Society of Biology, the Institute of Physics and the Zoological Society of London

Pupils who sign up individually will have access to the recordings after the final session in March, in time for the Easter holidays. However, for teachers, we will instead be sharing recordings the same week as live sessions so you can use them for lessons or clubs.

If you would prefer pupils to sign up individually, then please share this link with your pupils.
