I am the Multi-faculty Teaching Laboratory Manager, running the teaching lab and the research/teaching histology lab based at the Camden campus

I come from a NHS background where I was a Medical Laboratory Scientific Officer in the Department of Histopathology at the Royal College of Surgeons and St Thomas hospital. I came to the college in 1990 under a short term contact in neuroscience and became a full-time employee in 1992. I have worked in several different research labs covering a wide range of techniques. My main role now is in teaching where I am responsible for supporting practical laboratory and histology for all cohorts of students (BVetMed, Accelerated BVetMed, Gateway to BVetMed, BSc/MSci).

In 2016 I won a James Bee Educator prize.

In 2018 I was runner up in the Higher Education Bioscience Technician of the Year run by the UBMA and RSB and covering England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

I run the Research Histology Lab at Camden and train undergraduate project students, PhD students and post-doctoral researchers in the fine art of histology.

I am also an expert in primary cell culture, supporting the research of two CBS academics.

I run the main Teaching Lab at Camden and am responsible for supporting practical laboratory and histology for all cohorts of students (BVetMed, Accelerated BVetMed, Gateway to BVetMed, BSc/MSci). I also support the College’s Widening Participation and Public Engagement activities.
